It's over! Memories are vivid, pictures (hopefully) bright and clear. It was worth it. And we're definitely going to try to see eclipses in the future. But for the moment it's over and we're heading home again. Already since early in the morning we've heard many planes coming over. Lusaka airport is probably going to experience it's busiest day ever as reportedly a thousand planes will fly out again today and tomorrow.

When we arrive at the airport our expectations come true. Long queues of people waiting for their flights. Although the airport-staff isn't working at African speed, the amount of people is too much for them. At our official boarding time we're still standing in queue. But who cares, everybody still is. Some Americans are getting angry as there seems to be some overbooked seats and they're afraid of being kicked off. But at last everything goes well and we're all making it on our flight to Nairobi.

A short flight of about two hours brings
us to Nairobi and although we have to wait there for five hours, the waiting
doesn't feel that long. Most of the flight to Amsterdam is passed sleeping and
quickly, so it seems, we arrive at Amsterdam at 6 AM. A short train ride followed
by a bus trip brings us back home again.

In the afternoon we start making plans for our next trip: Ecuador and the Galapagos. And why not going one week earlier to see the next (annular) eclipse in Costa Rica?
